How to Claim a TAMU NetID
Note: Your NetID allows you to use various TAMU services and logins. (Aggieworks, Wireless, etc.)
1. Open a web browser and go to the Aggie Account Gateway: http://gateway.tamu.edu
2. Click Claim Your NetID
3. Enter your Universal Identification Number (UIN) and Date of Birth (MM/DD/YYYY). Click LOGIN

Note: If hired by SSC, your UIN will be the same as the number on your ID card, including the letter "C" at the end. For former University employees or students, your UIN will be the same as previously assigned.
If you receive the error “The account is already activated”, then your NetID has already been activated.
If you do not remember or do not know your NetID, contact TAMI IT - Help Desk Central at (979) 845-8300 with your UIN. They can also assist you in resetting your password.

4. On the next screen, carefully read the information about the NetID and password requirements, then enter your NetID and your password. Click Submit when finished
5. Account is activated. Please confirm you can login with your new NetID at http://gateway.tamu.edu
